Contact Lens FAQs
Who Can Wear Contact Lenses?
With recent advancements in contact lens technology, more and more people are finding that they are now candidates to wear contact lenses.
Bifocal contacts, and
toric contacts
make it possible for people with
presbyopia and
astigmatism
to wear contact lenses. If you suffer from
dry eyes
or allergies, it is still possible that you may be able to wear contact lenses, especially with the introduction of
daily contact lenses.
Even children as young as 7 or 8 can wear contact lenses, provided they are motivated to take proper care of the lenses. People who should not wear contact lenses include the following:
- anyone with
severe allergies
- anyone with recurrent
eye infection or chronic blepharitis
- anyone with poor motivation to properly care for contact lenses
- anyone with severe dry eye
- anyone who works in a dusty or windy environment
