Do color contact lenses work for dark eyes?

Yes! Color Contact Lenses work for dark eyes; and they look great too! Color contact lenses come in two basic varieties: opaque and enhancement. Opaque lenses are generally the choice for dark eyes because they completely change eye color while enhancement lenses simply enhance the color of light colored eyes. With opaque color contact lenses, you are free to drastically change your eye color.

It is important, however, to realize that with opaque lenses, you will not be able to see clearly through the colored portion of the contact lens. This will become noticeable with each blink, when the contact lens moves on your eye and as you look through the colored part of the contact lens for a split second. You will also notice that side vision (periphery) may be a little more hazy than you are used to. This is also due to the pigment in the contact lens. Although this can be rather irritating at first, you do become accustomed to it with time.
