Disposable Contact Lenses
Frequent Replacement Lenses
Frequent replacement contact lenses are designed to be worn daily (ie. taken out during sleep) and replaced on a regular schedule. The replacement schedule for such contact lenses can be weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly, and largely depends on the wearer.
If you have already discussed your options with an optometrist, you will know that replacement schedules depend very much on the person wearing the contact lenses. How much protein builds up on their lenses, as well as how often and how well they clean their lenses are just two factors which contribute to replacement frequency. The replacement schedule of the contact lens itself is also important, every company will have specific contact lens designs that are meant to last the average consumer a regular period of time (ie. weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly).
While these lens types require you to clean your lenses each day, they can be less costly than
daily disposable contact lenses;
as well they are "tested, tried, and true" in a manner of speaking. Frequent replacement contact lenses have been around the longest and offer the widest selection when it comes to
disposable contact lenses.
