Vial Contact Lenses
Planned Replacement
Vial contact lenses are so named because they are packaged in vials. These eye contacts are also commonly called "conventional" or "planned replacement" contact lenses.

Vial lenses are designed for long-term use, they are hardier than
disposable lenses
and therefore have a lengthy replacement schedule. These contact lenses can last anywhere from three months to a year before requiring replacement.
|
As with other contact lenses, vial contact lenses must be taken out daily and cannot be worn overnight. Wearing contacts overnight can damage your eyes, which require a sufficient amount of oxygen in order to remain healthy. While sleeping, eyes receive just enough oxygen through the eyelids; if you were to wear contact lenses while sleeping your eyes would not receive sufficient oxygen and their health may be compromised.
Vial lenses come in a variety of categories, making them an ideal choice for those of us who have had difficulty fitting disposable lenses. Possibly the most significant benefit to vial lenses is their decreased cost compared with disposable contact lenses.
